2020 Sephora VIB Spring Sale Recommendations

2020 Sephora VIB Spring Sale Recommendations

It’s that time of year again- where Sephora tempts us with their bi-annual sale. This year is different however- if I’m being honest, makeup is probably the last thing on our minds to buy right now. I personally won’t be shopping too much this time around, however I thought I would talk about my current favorites.

During this time, I’m using my page, as a distraction from the news, etc. and am doing my part by staying home to stay safe. Since I’ve gotten many requests asking for my recommendations I thought I’d share.

First let’s talk about how to get the special deal. You need to be a Sephora member to get a discount, you can sign up for free here. Sephora Insiders will have their own special weekend to shop discounts from 10–20% off.

Here’s the breakdown:

Rouge Early Access: April 17 – May 1

Sephora Rouge members have first access to shop the online event at 20% off with code SPRINGSAVE

VIB: April 21 – April 29

  • VIB members get 15% off event purchases online with code SPRINGSAVE

Insiders: April 23 – April 27

Insider members get 10% off event purchases online with code SPRINGSAVE

But first, let me remind you to use Rakuten for cash back! If you don’t have an account, you can sign up here! I can’t explain how much I’ve saved and gotten back by using Rakuten! It’s so easy just open the app, go to the site you want to shop and shop from there!

Recommendations:

PRIMER

First up, let’s talk primer. My favorite primer at the moment is the new Urban Decay All Nighter Face Primer ($36). The consistency is incredible and I noticed my foundation lasts a long time whenever I use this product. I was gifted this by Urban Decay a few months back and I haven’t stopped putting it down- my bottle is nearly empty. I know a lot of people compare this formula to the Milk Makeup Hydro Grip Primer. ($30). I’ve never tried that one, however, so I can’t say, but I truly love the Urban Decay one.

FOUNDATION

Moving onto foundations my holy grail is the Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Foundation. ($64). This foundation has everything you want and more. This is my go to for special events and photos. This looks airbrushed on the skin and flawless on; there are no pores and no cakiness in sight - nothing just amazingness (yes I made up that word). My bottle is personally almost empty so I may be repurchasing one. There are even minis on the Sephora site which is great to give the foundation a try.

The next foundation that I absolutely love is the Estee Lauder Double Wear. ($39) Now’s the time to grab this foundation if you’ve never tried it. It’s a cult favorite among many, and I see why. Oh and I did I mention there’s… get this… 56 shades! This foundation has a matte finish compared to the Armani one, which is dewy. Depending on your skin type you can choose with formula will work better for you.

I love switching between both of these for events, and special occasions, depending on the look I’m going for. Also side note, if you’re looking for that extreme coverage look, the Estee Lauder is just the perfect one, while the Armani one has a medium -buildable coverage.

CONCEALER

Next let’s move onto concealer. If you follow me on TikTok, (*which if you don’t you should, its addicting!) you’ll see my latest viral video has to do with me removing the stopper out of my new favorite concealer, the Benefit Cosmetics Boi-ing Cakless Concealer ($22). This is a full coverage concealer and doesn’t settle into fine lines.

I love this concealer so much, that yep, I’ll even say it, it definitely has taken the place of my once loved Tarte Shape Tape Concealer and Too Faced Born This Way. Bonus, it’s got the cutest packaging, a mini pencil!

SETTING POWDER

Screen Shot 2020-04-17 at 11.51.54 PM.png

Let’s move onto what you need to set your concealer. For setting powder, I may purchase for the Huda Beauty Easy Bake Loose Baking and Setting Powder. ($34) This is my holy grail setting powder and I ran out last month. Without it, my undereyes have not been set the same. I notice the difference when I’m using other setting powders. This setting powder is incredible; it has everything you want whether it’s super lightweight consistency, no flashback, it’s looks airbrushed in photos- I mean I can’t explain how great it is. The only con is the fragrance smell but I can get past that.

HIGHLIGHT

So next let’s go onto highlighter; my favorite part of my makeup routine. While my all time favorite highlighter is Amrezy x ABH collaboration, my second favorite has been just restocked after years- the Anastasia Beverly Hills Nicole Glow Kit. ($40)

This was and still is my holy grail. I only stopped using it because it was limited edition at the time; but no worries because I’m back to using this baby once again. I love mixing Forever Young and Glo Getter.

LIPS

Let’s move onto lips. As you notice, I’m going in order of how I apply my makeup. My favorite liquid lipstick shade is by Anastasia Beverly Hills in the shade Crush! ($20). This is a beautiful soft beige shade that is perfect for everyday wear. With one swipe you get full intense pigment.

I would also I also recommend Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat Lip Liners ($22). Pillow Talk is my all time favorite shade! There’s 15 shades to choose from and these go fast, since they’re a favorite for so many! These lip liners will complement any skin tone and look like your lips but better. Sometimes I just like applying lip liner and go.

Before the lip liner and liquid lips however, comes the mask- the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask ($20). I use this lip mask each night before I go to bed and every morning when I wake up. My lips feel moisturized, hydrated and overall healthy when I use this mask.

EYESHADOW

Eyeshadow_Palettes.png

Eyeshadow is up next! My number one palette recommendation is definitely the ABH x Amrezy ($49) one! (Check out my latest post for a full review on it). I gravitate towards this palette so much no matter what look I’m going for.

Anastasia Beverly Hills really hit it out of the ballpark with this one. The formulation, pigmentation the way they swatch, the way they blend just everything about these shadows is top quality.

The next palette that I love is the Huda Beauty Mercury Retrograde ($67). Since this palette is pricey, now is the best time to get it at great deal. This is the perfect spring and summer palette and can even work beautifully into the fall. Like the Amrezy one, so many looks can be done with this one as well.

While we’re on the topic of Huda Beauty, her obsession palettes are one of my favorites for everyday. I love the Nude Light, ($29) and the new pastel line, especially the stunning Pastel Mint one! ($29).

SKINCARE

Last but not least let’s talk about skincare- because we need the perfect canvas to apply makeup.

If you look at my Instagram page, you’d see that I don’t post too much skincare. This year, however I’ve gotten into it so much, especially the Drunk Elephant line. They’re pricey which is known, however now is a great opportunity to try something, with the extra discount.

First up is the Drunk Elephant Protini™ Polypeptide Moisturizer ($68). This protein moisturizer works wonders for my face. It’s lightweight, smooth and makes my face feel moisturized and hydrated. In addition, my other favorite is the Drunk Elephant Beste™ No. 9 Jelly Cleanser ($32). I’ve been through 2 of these cleansers, so if that’s doesn't tell you anything I don’t know what does. My skin has drastically improved, texture wise, and ace scarring has been removed, etc. I love that this line is clean and doesn't cause me to breakout.

The Saturday Skin Waterfall Glacier Water Cream ($39) was a surprise to me. I received this in a recent Boxycharm and since then I’ve completed the entire cream. Before it was finished, I used to apply this before my primer and foundation, to give my skin supple, hydration.
