Review: Norvina ABH palette

Review: Norvina ABH palette

Anastasia Beverly Hills' long awaited palette curated by ABH President and daughter of Anastasia Soare, Norvina, has finally launched.

And let's just say it was well worth the wait.

ABH's newest addition features pops of pinks, purples, a row of seven metallics and seven mattes -perfect for summer.

The palette is purple (Norvina's favorite color), and has the signature velvet touch, similar to the Modern Renaissance, Soft Glam, Prism, and Subculture palettes.

While swatching the palette, the metallics felt very soft and buttery and glided on the skin effortlessly. The mattes were very pigmented and also glided with ease.

See the palette swatched below:

Here's a description of each shade on the ABH website:

Dreamer - Metallic pink champagne
Base - Matte eggshell
Summer - Foiled metallic golden topaz
Soul - Matte Wisteria
Wild Child - Duo-chrome frosty pink with magenta shift
Incense - Matte dusty terracotta
Rose Gold - Metallic rosewood
Love - Matte mid-tone cool pink
Celestial - Duo-chrome plum with a violet shift
Volatile - Matte warm charcoal
Dazzling - Cool-tone duo chrome bronze with a violet shift
Eccentric - Matte dark burnt orange
Drama - Duo chrome aubergine with a cool bronze shift
Passion - Matte deep garnet

When using a brush to dip into the shades, there is fallout, so I would suggest tapping lightly into the palette. The kickup is not as bad as the Subculture however.

Looks

For the first look, I wanted to focus on the purples in the palette. I used Eccentric, Love, ABH single shadow Violet for the transition shade, Drama in the outer corner, Celestial and Wild Child on the lid and Dreamer in the inner corner. I also used Crush liquid lipstick and Sunscape lip gloss on top of it.

I wanted to experiment with a cut crease and the pink tones in the palette, so for the second look I dipped into Soul, a stunning periwinkle shade for the transition. I cut the crease with Tarte Shape Tape concealer and then used the shade Wild Child all over the lid. On the crease, I added some glitz with the Urban Decay glitter liner in Grind. For the lips, I used the ABH gloss in Venus on top of Kylie Posie K lip liner.

For the last look, I channeled my inner Kylie Jenner, by recreating a look makeup artist Sam Visser did on her using her new birthday collection. For my recreation, I used the shades Love and Soul for the transition. I then used Drama on the outer corner, Celestial for the middle of the lid and Wild Child for the inner part of the lid. For the pop of pink, I used the hot pink shade found in the Morphe 35B palette.

For each of these looks, I applied concealer to the lid prior and did not set it. This is the method I have been using for months; I find that without setting the lid, the shadows are much more vibrant and pigmented. This worked well with the Norvina palette, as my shadows lasted all day. I did not notice any shadows creasing or turning oily, etc., either which was a plus. For some of the metallics, I used my finger to apply the shadow, to prevent any fallout. I really love how the mattes blended seamlessly.

Overall, I do love the palette. As I mentioned earlier, there is some fallout with some of the shadows, which I would be careful about. I love how the palette has pops of color we haven't seen in other ABH palettes before, while also staying true to their signature bronze and neutral tones. I would recommend this palette if you're looking for some shimmer and color in your life.
